Phone Forwarding & Ring Time

This sets your phone so a call only goes to Echo when you don't answer — your phone still rings first. Pick your carrier for the exact code, then dial it in your Phone app.

Dial this, then press call:
*61*[YOUR ECHO NUMBER]**20#

You'll hear a confirmation tone or see “Setting activated.” The 20 = rings for ~20 seconds before forwarding. You can use any value from 5 to 30 (30 is the carrier maximum).

Turn off later: #61# Check what's set: *#61#
On an iPhone?
Dial the code above in the Phone app — that's all.
⚠️ Don't use Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding. That switch forwards every call, so your phone stops ringing entirely. The dial code forwards only the calls you miss — use the code, not the switch.
On an Android?
The code above works. If your dialer rejects it, add a second star: **61*[YOUR ECHO NUMBER]**20#, or set it in the menu: Phone app → ⋮ → Settings → Call forwarding → Forward when unanswered → enter your Echo number → Enable. (Samsung: Phone → Settings → Supplementary Services → Call forwarding.)
Two SIMs / eSIM on this phone?
When you dial the code your phone asks which line to use — pick your business line. Setting it on the wrong line is the most common “I set it but it didn't work.”
Advanced — forward ALL calls (rarely what you want)
⚠️ This makes your phone stop ringing completely — every call goes straight to Echo. Only choose it if you never answer this line yourself.
Forward all: *21*[YOUR ECHO NUMBER]# · Turn off: ##21# · Reset every forwarding rule: ##002#
Landline, home phone & VoIP

Unlike a cell phone, most home/office lines can't be set to “forward only unanswered calls” with a code you dial yourself — and the one code that works everywhere (*72) forwards every call. So the reliable path is to have your provider set it up.

⚠️ Don't dial *72. On Canadian home phones *72 forwards every call and your phone stops ringing entirely — the opposite of what you want.
The reliable way (any provider): call your phone company and ask them to forward your unanswered calls — say “Call Forward No Answer, not forward-all” — to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER]. It's a free feature and takes a few minutes.
TELUS home phone
TELUS's no-answer code is *92 (on) / *93 (off) — but on residential lines it usually forwards to your voicemail, not an outside number. Call TELUS and ask them to point no-answer forwarding to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER].
Rogers / Shaw Home Phone
Rogers/Shaw has no dial code for no-answer forwarding — *72 is forward-all only. Call Rogers and ask them to set up conditional (no-answer) forwarding to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER].
Bell / Bell Aliant home phone
On a Bell business line the no-answer code is *92 (on) / *93 (off). On Bell residential the home-phone codes only do forward-all, so call Bell and ask them to forward unanswered calls to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER]. (Ignore *94/*95 — those aren't call forwarding.)
RingCentral
Admin portal → Users → your extension → Call Handling & Forwarding → Missed Calls → “Forward to external number”[YOUR ECHO NUMBER]. Don't use “Forward all calls” — it overrides everything and forwards every call.
Vonage
Admin Portal → Phone System → Extensions → (edit) → Call Forwarding → No Answer → set the ring time and enter [YOUR ECHO NUMBER].
8x8
Admin Console → Users → (edit) → Call Forwarding Rules → forward unanswered calls to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER]. Put this rule directly under “Forward All Calls” — if it's ordered wrong, unanswered calls drop into voicemail instead.
Ooma
Ooma Office: in Ooma Office Manager, set a Ring Group (or Virtual Receptionist) to forward to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER] when no one answers. Sending a group to an outside number may require Office Pro / Pro Plus. (Residential Ooma is more limited — ask Ooma support.)
Google Voice
Google Voice can't forward unanswered calls to an outside number — missed calls go to Google Voice's own voicemail, and adding Echo as a “linked phone” makes it ring on every call. To use Echo, either port your Google Voice number to a provider that supports no-answer forwarding (RingCentral, Vonage, 8x8, Ooma Office), or forward all your Google Voice calls to Echo and let Echo answer.
Other VoIP / PBX / hunt group
Find Call Handling / Forwarding → No Answer (or overflow) in your portal and send unanswered calls to [YOUR ECHO NUMBER] after ~20–30 seconds. On a PBX or hunt group, add [YOUR ECHO NUMBER] as the overflow / final destination.

Not sure what you have? Check your monthly bill or call the number on it — any provider can turn on no-answer forwarding for you.

⭐ Prove it works — a 60-second test (don't skip this):
  1. Grab a different phone — a friend's, a staff member's — not your business phone.
  2. Call your business number from it, and let it ring — don't answer, like a real missed call.
  3. Within a minute you should get a text back from Echo on the phone you called from. That's Echo working. ✅

Your phone rang, went unanswered, but no text came? Your forwarding is fine — that part's on our side. Contact support and we'll sort it.
It went to your old voicemail? The code didn't take — re-dial it, checking every digit of your Echo number.

Cancellation Auto-Fill ADD-ON

When a customer cancels, Echo automatically texts your opted-in waitlist and upcoming bookings to fill the empty slot. You're charged $2 only when a slot is actually filled — this covers the AI and per-text carrier cost of contacting your list. Empty attempts are never charged. The $2 fills appear on your next monthly invoice.
